14:00 SAST | 09 Feb 2018

There’s plenty great sport this weekend on Kwesé, including Premier League, NBA, Zim Cricket, 2018 Winter Olympics and more.                                                                   .

English Football

If English football is your thing, then be sure to catch our Premier League Match of the Week: Everton vs Crystal Palace (Kwesé Free Sports, 10 February at 17:00 CAT), and remember to tune in from 16:00 CAT for Review and Build-Up and stay tuned for Match Wrap. To get you in the mood for that clash, look out for the EFL Championship tie between Millwall and Cardiff (Kwesé Free Sports, 9 February at 21:45 CAT). The game’s worth watching for the African stars in both teams. For Cardiff there’s Sol Bamba (CIV) and Bruno Ecuele Manga (Gabon), while Fred Onyedinma (Nigeria) plays for Millwall.

This weekend we have some very exciting NBA matchups. Boston Celtics vs Cleveland Cavaliers (Kwesé Sports 1 & KFS, 11 February at 22:30 CAT) is a mouth-watering prospect. The Celtics look to be running away with the Eastern Conference, while the Cavs could just be regaining the form that took them to the NBA Finals last season. And in the Western Conference, Warriors fans will be heartened by their good win over the Mavericks. On Sunday morning they take on third-placed San Antonio Spurs (KS1, 11 February at 3:15 CAT). Also early Sunday morning, KFS viewers can catch New Orleans Pelicans vs Brooklyn Nets (KFS, 11 February at 1:00 CAT)

Cricket lovers can enjoy the T20 Tri-Series between England, Australia and New Zealand. On Saturday the English and the Aussies once again go at it, this time at the epic Melbourne Cricket Ground. Expect a massive crowd for this Saturday spectacle, as some of the biggest hitters, like Glen Maxwell and Eoin Morgan, go head to head: T20 Tri-Series: Australia vs England (Kwesé Sports 2, 10 February at 10:10 CAT). Kwesé enjoys a strong presence in Zimbabwe, so it’s only fitting that we keep viewers current with Zimbabwean cricket: Zimbabwe vs Afghanistan 2nd ODI (Kwesé Sports 2, 11 February at 12:30 CAT).

2018 Winter Olympics

Kwesé Sports has rights to broadcast the Winter Olympics, which began today (9 February). There’s plenty of exciting sports to get into, including figure skating, international ice hockey, alpine skiing and snowboarding. If you’re new to the delights of winter sports, then a good place to start is with the Daily Highlights (Kwesé Free Sports, Daily at 19:30 CAT). Also look out for PyeongChang AM News (KFS, Daily at 9:00 CAT).

That is but some of the awesome international sport we have lined up for you over the weekend. For a more complete look at what’s on, be sure to check the Kwesé TV Guide.
