20:45 SAST | 10 Feb 2017

The third instalment of the Nitro Athletics Melbourne takes place on Saturday, and Kwesé Sports will again have all the running, jumping and throwing LIVE!

If you don’t know anything about Nitro Athletics… well, Usain Bolt is the face of this revolutionary athletics concept so you know it must fast, fun and funky.

The goal behind this world-first format is to breath new life into track and field outside of the the Olympic Games and World Championships.

The first two Nitro Athletics meetings went so well, that IAAF president Sebastian Coe arrived in Australia this week from the UK to watch the final two meetings live.

Some of the unique events of Nitro Athletics include an elimination mile, target javelin, mixed medley relays (pictured), a three-minute distance challenge and hurdles relay with power plays, turbo charges and false start penalties thrown into the mix.

Added to that, it’s a mixed-team event with Bolt and his All-Stars team pitted against teams from Australia, England, New Zealand and China.

To see all the action, tune to Kwesé Sports 2 at 15:00 (CAT) in Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana and Zambia or watch it on the Kwesé app (in Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana and Malawi) by downloading it FREE from Google Play or the App Store.
