'The Animal' sends out warning to English counterpart

The first man to be crowned the lightweight EFC champion, South African Wentzel 'The Animal' Nel, has warned EFC newcomer Christian Holley not to underestimate Martin van Staden ahead of their clash at EFC 57 at Carnival City on 3 March.

Nel recently took to social media to respond to Englishman Holly's statement that his South African opponent is "merely just a snack".

"Let's hope he lives up to the hype. Martin is no walk over or easy snack. One must remember with food, if you bite off more than you can chew, it will choke you," Nel tweeted.

Englishman Holley, who is also nicknamed 'The Animal', lives and trains in Mollaga, Spain out of SAAD/ASW Gym. With an 80% finishing rate, he has faced some of the biggest names in combat sports, including Artem Lobov and Roger Huerta.

However, Van Staden is one of the most experienced athletes in the organisation with over 30 fights. He too holds an exceptional finishing rate of over 80% as well. Van Staden has also faced the who's who in South African MMA, as well has MMA legend Brian Ebersole.

The bout features on the main card next to the featherweight championship clash and many other exciting match-ups.

The five main-card bouts will be broadcast live on kwesesports.com (Sub-Saharan Africa) and Kwesé Free Sports (Kenya & Rwanda) starting at 21:00 (CAT).
