Anthony Joshua can go on and “take over boxing” when he beats Wladimir Klitschko, according to American welterweight star Errol Spence Jr.

The 27-year-old Joshua and Klitschko will go head-to-head in a blockbuster showdown at Wembley Stadium on April 29 for the IBF heavyweight title, which Joshua currently holds.

Spence, who is in Britain to confirm where and when he will be challenging Kell Brook, believes Joshua will secure victory in the middle rounds against the 40-year-old Ukrainian.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Spence said: “Britain has a lot of great fighters and I think AJ can take over boxing.

“I think he will beat Klitschko in the middle rounds. Klitschko is crafty but AJ is young and strong heavyweight.

“This is his time and it’s time for Klitschko to pass the torch.”
