Sanchez wants to start ‘winning things’
Sanchez wants to start ?winning things?
Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez insists he remains committed to the club, but warned that things could change if their trophy drought continues.
The last silverware the Gunners added to their trophy cabinet was the FA Cup in 2015, while they haven?t won the Premier League since the ?Invincibles? went unbeaten throughout the 2003/04 season.
Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium after physically expressing his frustration at some of the decisions made by manager Arsene Wenger, who dropped the Chile international to the bench for the 3-1 defeat at Liverpool earlier this month.
The former Barcelona star is hoping to see out the remaining 15 months of his contract with the north Londoners, but hinted at a switch to another club in the English capital if Wenger?s side didn?t start ?winning things?.
Sanchez, who is away with La Roja on international duty, told the Publimetro: ?I am happy in London and hope to finish my contract there.
?I?d like to stay in the city but with a team that is winning things, that has a winning mentality. I?m 28 years old, I still have a lot of years ahead of me. I am a player who looks after himself.?
The Gunners are enduring their annual end-of-season slump, having lost six of their last nine games in all competitions, which included a humiliating 10-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last 16.
